Our AGM will be held at the delightful Leinster Arms. Guest speaker is Jill Giese, author of The Maddest Place on Earth. Jill, a clinical psychologist, has researched the extraordinary rate of insanity in Victoria in the nineteenth century. Her book examines the approach to treating mental illness at the time, and through real case studies of patients at the Yarra Bend and Kew asylums, illuminates an almost forgotten period of our history.
