Comments:

Frederick Warming, whose name may still be seen inscribed on the pediment, originally owned this hotel , and had previously operated another hotel of the same name a few doors to the east. The Warming family continued to be associated with the hotel for many years, and were well-known parishioners of nearby St John the Baptist Catholic Church. The two-storey Italianate stuccoed brick hotel, following the angle of the intersection with Wellington Street, remains a prominent element in the largely Victorian Queen's Parade landscape. In more recent years it became a popular folk music venue, and has now set up its own brewery, changing its name towards the end of 2013 to reflect this new activity.
