The Victorian hotel was rebuilt, probably between 1910 and 1930, in red brick with a tiled dado. The whole exterior was uniformly painted, probably in the early twenty-first century, creating quite a difference appearance.
After several shortlived attemots to create a more modern vibe, firstly as the Opim Den, and then the Goodhead (a reference to Goodhead, a brand of beer) the old pub was re-purposed as student accommodation for some years.
